Join us for our 2023 Medical and Scientific Conference from July 27 - 29, 2023! Meeting events include interactive workshops, telemedicine and virtual trial symposia, Keynote lecture by wearable technology expert Benjamin Vandendriessche, PhD (Byteflies and Case Western Reserve University, USA), Plenary Lecture by innovative ME/CFS clinician-researcher David Putrino, PhD (Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai, USA), and oral/ poster presentations of original research from around the world. Anyone with an interest in myalgic encephalomyelitis/ chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), fibromyalgia, COVID-19, long COVID, post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC), dysautonomia, and related disorders is welcomed to attend.
The meeting will take place at the Stony Brook University Student Activities Center in Stony Brook, NY from approximately 9 AM - 5 PM July 27-29. Proceedings of the meeting will be recorded. Registration fees include online access to recordings of the meeting for 30 days. Recordings may also be purchased after the meeting for those who do not attend in-person.
Please read these instructions carefully. This registration form is long because there are many options to consider. Items in Red must be answered by everyone. Other items may not apply to you or you may choose not to include them. You can skip them. Please check that all items applicable to you are answered.
1. If you are/ have been an IACFS/ME Member or may be on our mailing list, please enter your e-mail address in the first empty box below ("My Information"). Click "Search" and the database will find your profile. You do not need to log into your account. If you have never been a Member or a part of our list, skip this step.
2. Choose a Registration type. Read the descriptions of each type and what features it includes. All attendees will receive admission to all 3 days of the Conference, daily beverage breaks, a Conference e-program and online access to video recordings of the meeting for 1 month. Click here to join IACFS/ME now and receive a discount off the registration fee.
a. If you an IACFS/ME Member, you are entitled to one Member-discounted registration fee (that is, you cannot buy a Member-discounted registration for a non-Member).
b. If you are applying under the Early Career or Student/ Trainee categories, a later item will ask for proof of your status.
3. Enter your name and contact information.
a. If you entered you e-mail address in (1), your address and information will automatically be filled in from our database. Please check and update any information if needed.
b. If not, a box will say "New Attendee." Enter your contact information requested below and to the side of it.
4. COVID-19 Health & Safety Attestation: All conference attendees are required to either have had a bivalent COVID-19 vaccination by July 13, 2023 OR wear a mask in and around conference spaces. Click here to review our Health & Safety Policy . Then click on the box to confirm your compliance and your acceptance of COVID-19 risks. A check will appear in the box.
5. ONLY for Professional categories: this includes early career, trainees, and students. Continuing Medical Education (CME). Click on the box and select one option.
a. If you require CME credit hours, please select "Yes, CME Certificate" and you will receive a certificate with the number of credits corresponding to your LIVE attendance of the event (i.e. CME is not awarded for viewings of recordings).
b. If you just need verification of attendance for your organization/ employer, please select "Yes, Verification Letter."
c If you do not need CME or verification, choose "No." If you are not sure, we suggest choosing option "a." as otherwise we will not contact you later for CME purposes.
6. ONLY for Early Career Professionals/ Trainees/ Students: Status Verification: Paste a URL to a web page that has your name and status (e.g. LinkedIn, university profile). If you will be e-mailing us proof (e.g, identification card copy, program letter), write "See e-mail." instead.
7. Workshop Selections: There will be 2 Rounds of Workshops. For each round, pick the 2 workshops you would most like to attend. Click the empty box. Four options will appear: click your first choice. Then place your cursor in the blank space below it and click again to select your second choice.
8. July 28, Friday Banquet: Tickets are no longer being sold. Do NOT complete this item: the platform requires us to retain the items in order for past data to remain in the system.
9. Stony Brook University Dorm Housing: University housing is no longer available. Do NOT complete Housing-related items: the platform requires us to retain the items in order for past data to remain in the system.
10. If you have a Promo/ Special Code, enter it in the box and click "Apply."
11. Organizational Payment
a. If your organization is paying your registration fee directly, on the registration form, choose "Pay by Invoice." You will be e-mailed an invoice that you can forward to the purchaser. They can use the hyperlink on the invoice to pay via organization credit card. Please assure your organization has paid by July 21, 11:59 PM, or we will have to cancel your registration.
b. If your organization will be reimbursing you later instead, select "Pay" and complete credit card information. You will receive a receipt.
12. In some cases, you may need to wait a few seconds for information to process.
13. If you do not see a receipt or invoice in your e-mail Inbox, please check all your e-mail folders. Sometimes, this e-mail may end up in your Spam or Trash folders. Adjust your inbox filters so that you can receive e-mails from us in the future.
